Church built in 1881–4 by G.F. Bodley. The first church was known as 'The Splott Chapel', opened in a converted barn close to this site. It was replaced by a second-hand iron building, purchased from Dudley, co. Worcs and erected in 1876. Bodley gained the commission as he knew the incumbent, F.W. Puller, from the time that Fuller was a curate in London. Plans of present church approved 1881 and foundation stone 1882. Opened 1st October 1884. Consecrated 1886.
