Church (Anglican)
Church built 1864 at the expense of John Platt, a wealthy Oldham manufacturer, who owned Bryn y Neuadd, Llanfairfechan. The rector, Philip Constable Ellis, was the notable north Walian Tractarian, and the design and fittings of the church reflect that tradition. The architect of the church was George Shaw of Saddleworth, Oldham, assisted by his brother John and it was consecrated in 1864. The north aisle was added in 1874 in memory of the founder, and a new chancel was built in 1892. The spire was restored 1969. The dedication of the church changed from Christ Church to St Mary & Christ Church in 1999, following the closure of the former parish church, St Mary's, in 1999.
