David Jones (1895-1974)
A draughtsman, engraver, writer and poet, David Jones was born in Kent but retained a strong Welsh identity as his father was Welsh, and Welsh-speaking. In the 1920s he became a close associate of Eric Gill, with whom he worked at Ditchling and subsequently Capel-y-ffin, Powys, during the 1920s.Further reading
